Week 14 Review

April 5th, 2008 by Stephen

Posted in GTD, Productivity, Weekly Review |

Welcome back! It's good to see you again. Please note that I am now publishing all new material at my hub site: In Context Blog

Last week I was unable to maintain my commitment to my Weekly Review on Friday morning, so it was skipped. This had a definite negative effect on my productivity and planning for the days that followed. Here are the results for Week 14:

  • GTD Scoring in the Book of Days for March is concluded: , April is tracking nicely towards GTD Mastery. I kept score all week long, in the face of exhaustion and lots of driving. The Sparkline shows a the effects of scrambling to get caught up - . Lack of proper planning led to a decrease in productive action. I haven’t had a low-stretch like that since the beginning of March (is it a trend?).
  • Write next e-book and training course. Once again, I was unable to dedicate the kind of time needed for this project. I need a chunk of 3-4 hours to really get it moving.
  • I was only able to clear my in-box to empty 4 days out of 7. Unacceptable.
  • Average subscriber count was 715 (+26 from the previous report), with a high of 738 on Friday! Thank you all for that.
  • Save $$$ toward some personal financial goals - complete! - I can announce that your support and assistance will enable me to attend the:

    SOBCon I’m there

conference. Thank you for all that you do, and know that I am looking forward to keeping you all up-to-date on the conference happenings.

noteI am working on my goals for April and the coming Quarter this weekend, and preparing for week two of a 3-week Productivity Blowout in order to kick-start a couple of new projects and take my productivity practice to the next level. I will post these goals and my strategy for getting fired up shortly.
Be sure to tune in on Monday for another big post on the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.

Finally, I would love to hear from you about how you are progressing toward the incorporation of the 7 Habits into your own daily routine. Please let me know if you have any questions or need some help. Here are all of the posts in the series:

Week 12 Review

March 22nd, 2008 by Stephen

Posted in GTD, Weekly Review |

For two weeks in a row now I have been able to maintain my commitment to my Weekly Review on Friday morning, and here are the results for Week 11:

  • GTD Scoring in the Book of Days for the month of March to continues, increasing my progress towards GTD Mastery. I managed 100% again this week. The Sparkline shows a decline as the week progressed - . There were some scheduling conflicts that led to a decrease in activity and productive action.
  • Write next e-book and training course. Aargh! This received no attention this week, we are still at the 30% mark, as a guess.
  • I was only able to clear my in-box to empty 6 days out of 7. Acceptable.
  • Average subscriber count was 689 (-21 from last week?), with a high of 726 on Monday! This may have been the result of decreased posting due to more time on the road for my job.
  • Save $$$ toward some personal financial goals - in progress- 81% and 36%.
  • The new productivity tools for the HD BizBlog Shop have been tentatively scheduled for this month. In progress.

noteI am going to be planning my goals for April this weekend, and preparing for a 3-week “burn” in order to kick-start a couple of new projects and take my productivity practice to the next level. I will post these goals and my strategy for getting fired up next week.
Be sure to tune in on Monday for another big post on the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. This will be part seven in the series (I know, it’s become a little bigger than I planned!), where we will discuss Public Victories and how Habit 5 - Seek First to Understand, then Be Understood - affects written and verbal communication. Don’t miss it!

Finally, I would love to hear from you about how you are progressing toward the incorporation of the 7 Habits into your own daily routine. Please let me know if you have any questions or need some help. Here are all of the posts in the series:

Have a great weekend, and Happy Easter.

March 14th, 2008 by Stephen

Posted in Community, GTD, Weekly Review |

For two weeks in a row now I have been able to maintain my commitment to my Weekly Review on Friday morning, and here are the results for Week 11:

  • GTD Scoring in the Book of Days for the month of March to continues, increasing my progress towards GTD Mastery. I managed 100% again this week. The Sparkline shows some positive movement (last week - ) this week - . Every score a 5 or a 6! I have been cranking and I feel great about it. Renegotiating those commitments into a more realistic pattern helped a lot.
  • Write next e-book and training course. This is progressing, we are at the 30% mark, as a guess.
  • I was able to clear my in-box to empty 6 days out of 7. Acceptable.
  • Average subscriber count was 710 (+18 over last week!), with a high of 720 on Thursday! Thank you so much for your support. Click here to subscribe now, and get the free e-book! This week is the end of the free e-book promotion, starting on the 22nd it goes into the store.
  • Save $$$ toward some personal financial goals - in progress- 51% and 34%.
  • Complete Squidoo lenses on 5 topics. I have some guilt about this, which I have to alleviate by pushing the Squidoo project into the future. I just do not have the time to invest in this project right now. If anyone out there is interested in taking these on, I do have some notes and we can collaborate. Let me know.
  • The new productivity tools for the HD BizBlog Shop have been tentatively scheduled for this month. In progress.

noteBe sure to tune in on Monday for another big post on the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. This will be part six in the series, where we will discuss Public Victories and how Habit 4 - Think Win/Win - affects communication and personal relationships. Don’t miss it!

Finally, I have only heard from a few of you about how you are progressing toward the incorporation of the 7 Habits into your own practice. Please let me know if you have any questions or need some help. Here are all of the posts in the series:
