Mind Like Water

“As you walk and eat and travel,
be where you are.
Otherwise you will miss most of your life.”

  1. Rolf F. Katzenberger Says:

Reminds me of a story, the origin of which I’m trying to determine since years (do you happen to know the source?):

A wise man was once asked how he could manage to stay focused although he had so many things to do. He answered:

    “When I’m standing, I’m standing.
    When I’m walking, I’m walking.
    When I’m sitting, I’m sitting.
    When I’m eating, I’m eating.
    When I’m talking, I’m talking…”

They interrupted him, saying “That’s what we do, too!”

He repeated what he had said, and the people said again: “That’s *exactly* what we do, too!”

    He replied:
    “You don’t.
When you’re sitting, you’re already standing.
When you’re standing, you’re already walking.
When you’re walking, you’re already at your destination.”
