So it just might happen. We thought that the stock market would dive through the floor yesterday but things turned out better than we had expected. What to do?
GTD of course.
Penelope Trunk discusses the various things that people can do in the event of the R word happening. One of her best suggestions: focus on the quality of work and the quality of mentoring. If GTD is all about working smarter, then a true practitioner does two things well: focus on one thing at a time and tune out the distractions that can decrease the value of my work.
In my workplace, we’ve seen tremendous instability in the past three years with over 75% of the workforce leaving or being told to pack their bags. A sure-fire way to stay focused has been the practice of GTD. Those who have stayed focused, done their jobs well and added value to those around them…still employed.
Whether it’s workplace instability or an impending recession, GTD provides a better degree of job security and a higher quality of work. How will you practice GTD today?
