A New Feature - Translation

January 6th, 2008 by Stephen

Posted in Blog, Community, Culture, Inspiration, Just fun, Networking |

Welcome back! It's good to see you again. Please note that I am now publishing all new material at my hub site: In Context Blog

I know from the sitemeter records that quite a few of my readers are from Europe and Asia. So, in the spirit of global community I have added the Babelfish translator on the left-hand sidebar.

For those of you readers who know the available languages, please check it out. Click the appropriate flag for the language that you desire. Then leave a comment and let me know how it turns out.

I use it to read my friend Melanie’s blog, and the translation is pretty good. Some of the colloquialisms get skewed, but all-in-all, I can read it and it makes sense.

Please leave a comment and tell me what you think.

Nice move. Unfortunately, it cannot translate into my mother-tongue, so I tried the German translation and it surprised me a lot. Even though my German is far from good, I think BabelFish has done a good job.

Thanks for coming by. Being an American I can only do one language (heh) so I appreciate the feedback.

A pity that you don’t tranlate into Dutch. Just kidding. I like to read in English because it makes my English better.
There is also a plugin for WordPress with wich you can make a translation of a post. But someone else has to write it then. But it is a bilangual or more then bi blog.
Perhaps you can get people in who want to translate for you. Because then is the translation always the best.

That i give a comment is that I wanted to say hi and to say that i like your blog.

I don’t see a way to follow the other comments on your blog, so subcribing on a post-feed. or getting an email when there is a new reaction.

  5. Stephen Says:

Yah, there is a bit of a glitch with “Subscribe to Comments” plug-in. I am working on it, but I am not a very good coder.

  6. Kaj Rietberg Says:

If you need help, sometimes are the deaf and the blind king.

I’m not a great coder, but it is a pity as a good blog doesn’t have a way to se new comments.
