Blog Re-design Update
Posted in Community, GTD, Web 2.0/Media |
Welcome back! It's good to see you again. Please note that I am now publishing all new material at my hub site: In Context Blog
Hello all. Thank you for putting up with the changes and theme switching over the past two days. I had a little trouble with some tags that IE interpreted as “squish the whole blog into one narrow column.” One day everyone will use Firefox and life will be easier for all!
The changes should make it easier for navigation and finding the information that you are looking for. The Archives and Categories of posts are on the left side, and there is a search field also.
The right sidebar has links to my sponsors (thanks all!) and the blogroll, blogs and sites with a Productivity or Self-Improvement theme. The ads are a neccesary evil, but they are only for products or services that I use or recommend. Or that Google thinks you may be interested in.
You can look forward to the same type of articles on Productivity, Leadership and New Media. Al and Mike will be continuing their weekly contributions on Getting Things Done, and we may be adding some new writers in the near future, so stay tuned!
As always, thank you for your attention and support, your suggestions and comments are welcome. If you have any specific topics that you’d like to see addressed, please let me know in the Comments.

I like the new look! It’s clean and simple and that’s something I like :)
Some tips:
You might want to lose the blue line around images (see ads to the right (wrike, ztd and your own)
I’m on a 22′ widescreen monitor and the content stretches all the way to fill the screen (when I maximize the browser). It’s a bit wide, so you might want to limit the width of the middle section too.
And I wouldn’t mind if this comment box is a bit wider. There are five words on every line right now. A preview plugin would be great as well!
But nice work!

Okay, I am working on the border issue, I do not know why some linked images have them and some do not. ?? I will look for a preview plugin, that does seem like a good idea. As for the middle column, I recommend making your window smaller ;-) Thanks for the tips!

Wow, the new site looks fantastic! I was expecting an evolution, not a revolution. Good job Stephen.
Looks like you have a new motto for the site as well. I don’t have any suggested changes. I do have one question - since the blog is HD BizBlog, will you be putting that somewhere on your header banner? Perhaps the link on your top navbar say “HD BizBlog Home” instead of “Home”? Actually, that might be too long.
At any rate, the new look is very clean, and it loads up pretty fast too.

Stephen, The site looks really good. It loads SOOOOO much faster now, congrats! Maybe I will actually come to the site instead of relegating your feed to RSS reader only.
Hope that things continue well for you.
